The Winthrop Rockefeller Institute (WRI) of the University of Arkansas System was established in 2005 with a grant from the Winthrop Rockefeller Charitable Trust and permanently endowed in 2018 with the establishment of the Gov. Winthrop Rockefeller Endowment at the University of Arkansas Foundation. The Institute and conference center is located on Petit Jean Mountain near Morrilton, on the grounds of former Gov. Winthrop Rockefeller’s cattle farm. The Institute is a separate tax-exempt corporation supporting the overall educational purposes of the UA System. Its mission is to continue Winthrop Rockefeller’s collaborative approach to creating transformational change by offering conference facilities, workshops, and facilitation services for groups seeking to do meaningful work.
