The University of Arkansas System is currently accepting applications for the position of director of the Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences and the Arts, a residential high school in Hot Springs.
The director serves as chief executive officer and external representative of the school. Current ASMSA director Dr. Janet Hugo will retire on June 30, 212.
Founded in 1991, the Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences, and the Arts is a residential school with a legislated mission to educate Arkansas’s gifted mathematics, sciences and arts students during their junior and senior years of high school.
In addition to its residential program, the school is committed to a broad academic program of distance education and to teacher enhancement throughout the entire state. The school’s unique curriculum encourages the extensive use of educational technology, multi-disciplinary team teaching and student-initiated research programs.
Graduates of ASMSA are represented in the student bodies and as graduates of the strongest universities in Arkansas and in top-ranked public and private institutions across the country.
