Items requiring Board approval that are addressed during the Board’s Executive Session agenda are as follows (example documents are linked):

• Board of Visitor appointments
• Early retirement agreements
• Honorary Degrees or UAMS Chancellor’s Award (Board Policy 505.3)
• Salaries in excess of the Line Item Maximum
• Granting of emeritus status (Board Policy 475.1) – Typically at March meeting
• Promotion and tenure recommendations (Board Policy 405.1) – March meeting

Items addressed during the Board’s Buildings and Grounds Committee meeting are:

• Real estate transactions including easements
• Naming opportunities (Board Policy 720.1)
• Construction projects including selection of design professionals, general contractors, construction managers

Items addressed during the Board’s Audit and Fiscal Responsibility Committee meeting are:

• Financing arrangements, including bond issues

Items addressed during Academic and Student Affairs Committee meeting are:

• Addition, deletions, suspension or significant modification of academic programs (Board Policy 620.1)
• New organizational units, changes in structure of existing organizational units
• All items submitted to ADHE for approval or notification
• Tuition and fee recommendations – May meeting

Other items considered by Board during Regular Session:

• Mission statement changes
• Licensing agreements
• Extracurricular camps
• Promotional items
• Provisional positions
• Resolutions of condolence or appreciation

Items for submission to the Board of Trustees Must:

• Be emailed to the President’s office at agenda@uasys.edu in Word format (please no PDFs) by the appropriate deadline. The 2022-23 agenda deadlines are included on the table below.
• Be recommended and submitted by the Chancellor or Chief Executive Officer of the campus, division or unit.
• Include a summary statement or explanation for use in a cover letter to the Board of Trustees, a proposed resolution, and full documentation supporting the proposed action.
